The Regional Jail East is a 76-acre jail built under a regional agreement by

it is the first campus-style jail in the commonwealth and operates in a
barrier-free environment between deputies and inmates for effective
supervision. They also offer GED certification classes and vocational programs
for inmates.
Henrico County has a separate detention facility for holding juvenile
detainees, as they are not placed in adult prisons. The Sheriff’s Office also
